5 Tips to conquer self-doubt

To be overly dramatic, self-doubt is the pinnacle of questioning your very existence in this world. Infected by the environment, you compare yourself to a ‘better’ individual; “they have a better life, more money, everything sorted out,” and you wonder, “Why isn’t my life sorted out?”

Self-doubt is a form of overthinking that causes you to lose gratitude for your life. Here are some tips to bring back gratitude in your thinking and rise above self-doubt.

Remember your achievements

Remember when you were able to accomplish “that” despite the fact that you were sacred and unable to handle the stress? This allows us to reflect on concrete accomplishments, such as something difficult for us that turned into something wonderful. It is beneficial to remind ourselves of times when things went well, because the same thing could happen in the present moment.

Self-compassion

We are all humans that make mistakes and also be perfect at many things. Tell yourself ‘it is okay’ because no one else will. When we doubt our abilities, it’s usually because we don’t want to leave room for error. Mistakes, on the other hand, are how we learn and grow. We can reduce self-doubt and fear of failure by being kind to ourselves regardless of the outcome.

Determine Your Values

What values are important to you? It could be that you are helpful to others, a good friend, or that you contribute to something meaningful in your life. When we acknowledge these values and what truly matters to us, we lose our fear of being judged by others.

Maintain a Journal

Writing down your self-doubt or imposter syndrome experiences on paper may be a good release. You may even notice, once you’ve written down your concerns, that they aren’t as serious as you thought. This can assist in gradually overcoming self-doubt.

Try to Not Compare Yourself to Others

It’s not as simple as it sounds, but here’s the most basic thing I can tell you: don’t compare yourself to others; you’re unique. Comparison is said to be the mugger of joy. This adage is true in many ways. If you are experiencing self-doubt because you are afraid you will not achieve something on the same level as someone else, it can be a crippling feeling. Everyone’s path to and definition of success is different.
